Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongju City hold a joint officials meeting on September 3
On September 3, 2014, at Gyeongju World Culture Expo Halls large conference room, Gyeongsangbuk-do held an officials meeting with provincial bureau directors-general and Gyeongju Citys bureau directors and managers attending, to successfully hold the “Istanbul in Gyeongju” event.
In the meeting, Vice Governor of Administration Joo Nak-young said, For eleven days, on September 12-22, we will hold “Istanbul in Gyeongju 2014” in Hwangseong Park, Arts Center, and Cultural Expo Hall. The event is a meaningful international cultural exchange between Gyeongju, the starting point of the Silk Road, and Istanbul, the end point of the Silk Road.
He continued, With the world paying attention to this event, officials should directly make detailed checks of the overall event operation, including welcoming guests and safety measures.
After the meeting, Mr. Joo visited the Hwangseong Park area and said, The preparations are going well, such as the installation of the main stage for the ing ceremony, and of a publicity center. USD5 million has been invested in the establishment of Istanbul Publicity Center, which will include a 3D theatre to feature a tour of Istanbul, so we have great expectations of the project.
